Default Interesting incident (at least to me)

I was walking the dog, rhodesian ridgeback, with the wife and 5 year old daughter when a car nearly runs us over in an intersection after blowing through a stop sign. It pissed me off so I "mean mugged" the driver and we continued about our business. As we passed the car I hear the windows roll down and what seems like the sound of the car door opening (condition orange at this point with jacket unzipped).

Driver: "thanks!" ( as if we had done something wrong)

Wife: "You're welcome, I guess you don't stop at stop signs?"

Driver: "Well I guess you didn't see the police plates on the front of the car?" (all black SUV with nothing that would indicate law enforce and the person was wearing plain clothes)

At this point we both just walk away because the situation could have only gone downhill from there. Sorry if this post is stupid but I found it interesting that this "officer" felt he was above the law and could drive however he wanted. Only my second bad experience in philly in 2 years. I should also add that I didn't see any municipal plates on the vehicle as he drove off and I didn't get a chance to get the plate # to file a complaint or to report some one impersonating an officer (if he wasn't).

You're lucky he didn't shoot your dog.

I would have gotten the plate number, this guys badge number, and turned him in.

If he wanted to be a smart ass about it, ruin his day. What is he going to do. Give you a terry stop because your dog could be full of drugs?
I'm so fast, I can bump fire a bolt action.

As soon as I heard the word "Police" I would've commanded my Dog to flee for it's life, and then copy down the plate number.

"...and you're in some kind of felony stop hurry to almost run us over, yet take the time to belabor the point of your not driving safely? What is your Badge and plate number officer?"
It is you. You have all the weapons that you need. Now fight. --Sucker Punch

    Talk about hubris...
Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

Next time, tell him to fuck off - being an alleged cop doesn't give him the right to be a douchebag.

Just get ready for a Disorderly Conduct charge.

Yeah, but you'll always have that moment of satisfaction to look back on...

I pay extra super duper attention to what I'm doing when driving a marked car. Yes, for the obvious reason and also I love to see people fuming and traffic stacking up behind me on a 4 lane. (If we're all traveling at about the same speed, the speed limit, the number of vehicles behind should not be ever increasing) Which is not to say I do whatever I want in an unmarked.

    However, most don't.
