Ping pong balls, tennis balls, raquet balls, anything like that can be picked up cheap through Goodwills or used sporting good shops. Cut small holes in them and fill with general-purpose flour from the pantry. When hit, they usually pop in a nice plume of white dust. Flour is perfectly biodegradable and safe, and you can just pick up the balls when your done. Tennis balls can sometimes be duct-taped back together and re-used.

Also, for those who like shooting clay pidgeons placed statically, you can make your own by mixing water, flour, and orange food coloring into a dough, using an old tin can as a cookie cutter, and baking them in the oven. They dont hold up to a launcher like clay, but if youre just sticking them on a backboard, they do fine.

Paintballs on golf tees are great to shoot with a pellet gun.
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Aspirins attached to double sided tape. Fasten the tape to a target backboard and try to hit at at least 100 yards.
Humbles most shooters real fast. Or, eggs at 600 yards. ( yes there is such a thing as an egg shoot. It is shot offhand. )

I can't believe I didn't see it in this thread (unless it's there and I missed it)...

EGGS! They are perfectly biodegradable and give a hell of a reaction when hit.

You can shoot them off the ground or make a little rack for them with just a board that has some holes drilled partially in it to allow the eggs to be stood upright.

My vote is for anything flamable in a container next to a flame.

Ill put that on the list of things Im NOT going to do. If I had a private range I might shoot one with a tracer...but nope...not doing anything like that at the club.
