Question People blocking game land access gates

So last week I was hunting Dredly's personal season for the last time till my son can go, and I needed to find some new stomping grounds.
So I hit up SGL 257. Very nice, but the wind kept them hunkered down so it was more like armed recon. So I parked at the lower area all the way in the back now that it's open. I took the mile and 1/2 hike up the hill on the trail. Got the top walked the trail up there and got to one of the normal PGC gates and noticed there was a 100yd right of way between houses, to a road and that the home owners have chained off the access and put up posted signs not 5' from the PGC gate. So you can't walk out to the road from the gate
    WTF?
So I finshed the patrol and drove up to see and I could see the gate from the road and seen they have also fenced off where you would walk in at. I mean JUST that part has a fence, none of the yards do.

So has anyone else seen this kind of stuff?
Could our resdent WCO give some advise to find out if in fact it's no longer a PGC access or are they just blocking it to keep hunters from parking out front of the houses to walk in there?

your best bet is to call your regional office and ask to speak with the land manager for that area. He or she should know whats going on.

if it isn't a public right of way they can block it off. Its also possible that it was posted by the home owner with permission of the PGC if a lot of people are doing stuff there that they shouldn't be (4 wheelers).

my guess would be that its private property and previous owners had no problem... new ones do

if you look at Google Maps and zoom in it will show you where the property lines are. if there isn't a spot for a right of way then one probably doesn't exist

The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

    ^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^is good advice.

The land manager would also have access to whether or not PGC has any easements across the property if it wasn't SGL.

Another idea is to check the county tax site. Most counties have interactive GIS property maps which show property boundaries, ownership and Rights of way/easements.

Mapquest has the roads labeled wrong and Google map is so old over 1/2 the houses are not shown and no property lines.

The old map also shows the access and it looks like there was a way to get to it from Grouse Ridge rd.
