A hand cannon that also looks like a hand cannon It's a Ruger SRH Alaskan .480 that I picked up recently. Didn't realize the bullets were so expensive so I decided to cast my own. The ones pictured above are .475 400gr.
Geez. Nice pics. I bet that thing's fun to touch off.

So, no BS. Some one just offered me $200 more than I bought it for.....

So I sold it. Owned it less than 24 hours.

Cool Re: Picked up a Hand Cannon

I like the way they look. Not a practical gun , more of just a fun gun at the range, I would think. Sounds like you made a fast and easy profit.

As far as the Ruger Alaskan models go, the .454 Casull is probably the most brutal of the bunch in terms of recoil. The .480 feels like a hot .44 magnum round and is a lot more pleasant to shoot than the 454. The Alaskans really do a good job soaking up recoil, my other 44 mags, a S&W 3" 29-3 and a S&W 2.5" ported 629-1, are just not as fun to shoot.
