go shoot both guns and see which you shoot better. What are you going to use the gun for? Safe queen? range? HD? carry? With the current down turn in quality of Sig I'd have to go glock but I do love how the sigs I've shot run

Re: Sig P229 or Glock 23 Gen_4??
I have a Glock 23 Gen 1. It is a great shooting gun. I've had it for 14 years or so. BUT... if money is no object I'd go for the SIG. My feeling is the Sig is just better
I also had a Sig P226 German around the sametime and sold it. To this day it's my dumbest gun sell / trade ever

Sigs are great. Kinda heavy to carry but shoot well.

Re: Sig P229 or Glock 23 Gen_4??
Another .40 I would suggest is a FNH FNP-40. I picked one up a few weeks ago and love it. It also comes with three mags and two backstraps. It's similar to a Sig with a decocking lever and saftey. I picked that up at a Show for $475 new.

Shot them both and then decide which one YOU like/shoot better.
They are two totally different guns - apples and oranges.
Different trigger types, grip angle, and frame material. These things make a huge difference.

Re: Sig P229 or Glock 23 Gen_4??
I have a gen 3 G23 & a Sig P229. I like them both, but the Glock hasn't seen much carry since I got the Sig. The Sig just "feels" & shoots better. For me anyhow. You might be different. Both are great guns & you won't go wrong with either.
You mentioned that money wasn't a factor, so you may want to check out the HK 2000 & USP, too."It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

Re: Sig P229 or Glock 23 Gen_4??
Sig for sure. There is a reason it costs more, and its not just in a name. I bought my first glock yesterday, only because sig doesnt make a 10mm. I like my sigs better overall though. P229 is hard to beat on accuracy, ergo, and just overall looks. I dont bring up reliability becuase both have that corner covered.
