Found my new toy...
I have been wanting a 3" 357 for some time..I finally found what I wanted.. Its a S&W 65-2.. Best of all I traded for it so no cash spent..

That is similar to the 70s FBI 3" barrel 357 mag but it was blue, very nice the 4" blue was a model 13. What was the blue 3" designated?
I like those 3" inchers also.

Congrats! The 3" K frame 357 is a sweet balance in terms of size vs. barrel length vs. carry piece.
NOTE: Do yourself and the revolver a favor and DO NOT fire < 130 gr 357 loads in it. A steady diet of 125 gr 357s have been known to result in cracked barrel forcing cones. Stick with 147s & 158s, and that goes for 38 Spl +P, too.

I have heard about the problem with 125 grain 357's, but I cant understand why the same would hold true with 38's? If that were the case I would think any 357 load would be problematic...
