Re: Reloading for precision accuracy, what steps do you take?
thanks tomcat, I'd rep you but I gotta spread some reps first.
The 178s were definately moving. I'd say out of 100 rnds fired on an 80 degree day I blew a third of the primers. It was the day before a comp too and that was the only ammo I had with me. I got lucky and the temp dropped 30 degrees the next day and stayed cool for the next two days. Only popped one primer.
I'm going to order some 155s today.
I'll do a write up on the scope. Its a beast. I still need my badger ord. base and rings before I can mount it, but this is definately an purpose built scope and I gather they got a lot of input from snipers during development. worth the 6 month wait.
Staying on topic, I am having some problems with grooves getting cut in to the neck of my cases. At first I thought it was the die. But I think it might actually be from trimming the cases. It leaves a sharp, raised edge and I don't think the deburring tool is taking it off. So when you run the brass through the die, it screws up the necks. I'll try and post a pic. Maybe you can help come up with a solution.
