A few Trail Cam Pics
Overlooking a spot I've hunted for many years.
Some of the more interesting ones I thought some may enjoy.
BTW the wind and rain in the last 2 weeks was crazy and my Trail Cam just wanted to click away taking thousands of pics. LOL
First time I saw one of these was about 20 years ago hunting with a bow in a tree in Schuylkill Co.
A nice buck that will probably hide under a rock in rifle season. LOL

Any Coon Hunters out there?

Re: A few Trail Cam Pics
first 2 shots are a cougar/mountain lion.
It is interesting to see how a variety of critters will follow along the same trail. Of course the cougar is tracking and they do a loop of several miles and will return in 2-3 weeks.
...but why did you go on the trail? You may have left enough scent to scare away any further investigation by the big cat.

Yes that is a Bobcat.
Over the years I've had 3 confirmed sightings if I include this one in the pic.
They don't seem to hang around long when I saw them.
I guess they cover a lot of ground.
Every now and then I'll note tracks in the snow. Please feel free to visit a forum that I moderate:

Re: A few Trail Cam Pics
hmmmm? bobcat?
the picture is fuzzy and hard to see but if the tail is long and the size of the critter is big, like 75 + pounds I say mountain lion/cougar.
if the tail is docked and the critter is shorter and smaller, like 35 pounds then it is a bobcat.
the bobcat is more prevalent in these parts but there are cougars in PA I think.
This also brings up another question:
I saw a very dark/mostly black dog like critter recently. Never seen a coyote so dark and I have seen many coyotes. Could it be a feral dog coyote mix?
also a gal at the barn where I work said she saw a wolf a few days ago. I said no way. She said it looked like a picture from a book, big, gray, long tail, erect ears. I asked if the tail had a curl, thinking it was more likely a Malmute dog and she said no.
Are there wolves in PA? Game commission says no. Is it possible?
