Default Are Generation 3 Glocks still being produced?

When I finally get around to getting a G17 I have decided it will be a Gen 3. I plan to buy it used and know I will have no problem finding plenty to choose from. I was wondering though, is the Gen 3 now out of production? The best part about the Gen 4 imo is that alot of people are trading their third generations in for them giving me more to choose from.

I personally would not be buying any gen 4 untill about 4-5 yrs from now, the gen 3 17 is one of the worlds most tried and true design thats proven to work over and over again, i dont envy the idiots that is running out and trading in a perfectly good and proven gun for a design that has yet to be proven. I'm not in the Gun of the month Club.

    You are wise to wait.

I am fairly sure that the gen 4's are just a special run, and not intended to replace the gen 3's. They'll be sold next to eachother.

It will take a while before all the Glock models are available in Gen 4 form. I just saw pics of the new Gen 4 G26, not much has changed from Gen 3 -4 on that model.

Gen 3 is still available, but I don't see a problem with buying a next-generation Glock. Reliability for me is guaranteed with the Glock brand.
