Suppressor
Im looking to buy a .22LR suppressor and Ive heard that the tax is $200, if I buy brand new. What would it cost to transfer, if I bought it off of someone in state? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Suppressor
The tax stamp necessary to legally transfer suppressors is $200, regardless of whether you're buying a new unit from a dealer or a used one from a private party.

Re: Suppressor
As noted, the federal transfer is $200, as long as it is from a private seller or a dealer in state.
if its a private seller out if state, it will be $200 to a local delaler, then another $200 to you. If its a dealer out of state on a Form3, its no charge to transfer to your dealer.
Most dealers charge anywhere from $25 and up to do the paper work, same as a handgun or long gun. You need to ask your dealer what their fee is.

To do the paperwork? All I need is their name, address, and phone number. I can write down silencer/MG, serial number, barrel and overall length.
