People Getting Banned W/out Visible Infractions

I thought the entire purpose for the new infraction red elephant in the threads was to allow people to know what kind of rule violations have been made publicly.

I have seen several people banned in recent months with zero visible infraction notices....how are we to know which toes not to step on that they did?

You'd have to post certain instances where that has occured.

There are two possibilities. You missed the posts where people earned infractions.......or those people earned an infraction that resulted in a ban in and of itself (some infractions carry a temporary ban per the posted rules)

There are instances where infractions are issued directly to a user's account instead of to a specific post from a user; this happens in the case where a user is infracted for trolling via neg rep.

not everything that gets you banned is related to visible posts.

you can be banned for improper/threatening Neg reps, improper PMs, signing up second accounts to troll, signing up replacement accounts as a banned user, etc etc.

infractions on posts are the only VISIBLE notice of an issue.

when it comes down to it, the action is between the website admin/staff and the actual user, and not really the purview of the general site user, and may, or may not be made publicly known.

there should be no expectation of a public release of info regarding any action the site staff takes with any user, with anyone BUT that user.
