Re: ISSC Plinker
I can commit on the pistol just have some advice before you pick one up or ant 22 plinker. Make sure you check the price and availability of extra magazines. That is the one down side to my 229 22 conversion.

Re: ISSC Plinker
I just got one a couple of weeks ago. That is a very good price. I paid more for mine but it was spur of the moment thing so I can't complain.
It's a great shooter and is very comfortable to shoot but, during the break in period it was very picky about ammo. I did several tests with this gun and several types of ammo and here is what I have found:
1. CCI Blazer (loves this ammo. great for breaking in the gun)
2. Federal Target Grade (excellent ammo for this gun. Pretty much flawless. Get the Bulk Pack from Wally World and have at it :-) ).
3. Remington Thunderbolts (also pretty good for breaking in but I got several "light strikes" from this ammo. But, I get them from many other Semi's with this so its not surprising).
4. Remington Golden Bullet (shoots pretty good. A few "light strikes" but not bad at all. Another Bulk/Wally Pack).
5. Federal Ammo (36 grain Bulk/Wally Pack. Not good at all from the break in stage. There is not enough pressure to work the slide. Tons of FTF's, Stovepipes and such. After about a good 300 or more rounds they perform better but personally I just stay away from and use them in my other .22's).
6. Winchester SuperX (avoid like the plague! These were horrible in mine. Almost every one was a FTF, Stove, etc. I just use these for revolvers. None of my Semi's really like these much at all).
It seems that the best fit for this gun for ammo is anything that is High Velocity and perhaps best a .40 grain bullet. But, like I stated after breaking in, it's starting to shoot most anything I throw at it. With exception of the SuperX!
Of course YMMV but I am very happy with the gun. Its a great little plinker/practice gun. It comes with 3 different front sights and a adjustable rear sight, 2 mags and lock tool with box. As stated, I paid a little more but I'm happy.
Plus it freaks people out at the range. Its like a FrankenGlock with the hammer :-). Most that have seen it are like WTF is that? :-)
Hope this helps someone with there possible purchase.

Re: ISSC Plinker
Buds has them still in stock for $ 237
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/61742
I have purchased several guns from Buds, they are excellent to work with. I know some hate them because they are big and under cut the little guys - but that's capitalism I still make sure to buy guns and ammo and accessories from my local guy to support him - but If I find a steal at Buds, I'm all over it !
Keep the reports coming, still deciding whether I want one. TxLast edited by cruzans; November 4th, 2010 at 08:19 PM.
