    Default Problem Closing Classified Ads

    Good morning Moderators!

    You state:
"Close your Classified Ad: Once you have sold the item you are selling or found the item you are buying, please edit your original ad and change the "Prefix" to the previously mentioned [CLOSED] prefix. This will help our staff locate ads that need to be moved to the archives in an effort to unclutter the ad boards. Please note that we also archive classified ads that have not been updated within the last month."

However, when I go in to edit my classified ad, I can not access the prefix to change it. I have tried both normal and advanced editing? I can edit it and mark at the bottom "Close this thread after you submit your message," but I don't think that changes the prefix.
    What to do?
    Suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks.

Here's the specific ad to which I am referring:

Can you post a screen shot of what you see when you are in "advanced edit mode"?

    Here is the screen shot:

Does that give you enough information?
For some reason, the prefix is not there for me to change.

    Thanks for your assistance.

I'll go ahead and change the prefix for you, and make sure that the admins are aware of this. The prefixes were there for me when I went to advanced mode, but I expected that because I'm a staff member.

Unhappy Re: Problem Closing Classified Ads

Well, it happened again. I went to advanced edit to close two threads (since I was consolidating them into a single thread in an attempt to save bandwidth)
    The two threads are:
    http://forum.pafoa.org/accessories-a...10-4-00-a.html

    and

    http://forum.pafoa.org/accessories-a...e-targets.html

I could not change the prefix at all (it did not show up at all) so I deleted the title and all the text, inserted "Closed Thread: Please delete" as the new title and as the new text, and checked the box to close the thread after posting. However, when I go into the forum, both ads still shows up as "Want to Sell" and they both still have the original title.

This makes it look like I have multiple ads for the same items, which is not at all my intention.

Any additional help you can give me would be appreciated.
    Very humbly submitted.

I've again manually taken care of the problem, and again contacted the admins, asking them to chime in here.

Just so you know, and Im not saying that this is what happened, but if you EVER close a thread first, before going in to edit any text, it doesn't work.

I can also attest that this is the case. Once threads are closed, they can't be modified without re-opening them.

I'm encountering the same problem trying to change the prefix to "Closed". I might have mistakenly clicked something wrong, screwing things up.

    My ad:
    http://forum.pafoa.org/firearms-6/11...leloaders.html

    Any help would be appreciated.
