I have to agree with you. My buddy bought 2 M1 carbines in great condition from two different gun shops for less than the price of the cheapest one there. I don't know why exactly.

Wow, guess it wasn't a big loss to miss it. Wandered the Wash Cty show hoping to find a "walker" with an interesting EBR for under a $K, but no one was carrying anything, no MSAR, SIG, LE6920s. Guess folks are hanging on.

Was tempted to try for Monroeville but figured why bother.
All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.

Not a big crowd. The line at 0900 was 1/2 as long as it was for the June show. The always-wide aisles seemed wider.

Prices on guns were generally still quite high, but there were some bargains to be found if one looked close enough and knew the market pricing elsewhere. The guys straight inside the door (father & two sons, they are always at the PGCA shows with a large selection of handguns and rifles) were out-of-sight outrageous for prices. OTOH, I saw a 1960s straight-gripped Marlin 336 in 35 Remington for $300, and that's about $150 less than market. It didn't last an hour.

Nobody looking at the current crop of Russian Capture Kar 98ks, priced from $379 to $399 depending on the dealer. And nobody was buying ARs at all.

I went selling a few old 22s and got my price, enough to buy a case of Tula .40 S&W ammo, steel cased, $130 / 500 for shooting this winter when the snow is too deep to hunt for empties. I also found a pair of Farrar Tool grips with Beretta logo for Beretta 92/96 for $10. These out-of-production grips are normally priced at $25-$40 on the Beretta Forum and elsewhere. I also found some misc. parts for a few project guns.

In at 0905, out at 10:50. Reasonably productive, for me.

    Ouch.

Glad I had to work and couldn't make the road trip.
