Default Purchased my first handgun this Weekend

Title saws it all as I purchased my first handgun Saturday. Read a lot of reviews and ended up purchasing a used beretta u22 Inox from classic pistol.

Think I got a pretty solid deal. Paid $230 for it...gun looked brand new and was manufactured in 2010.

Now I just gotta practice and try to become a better shooter. Any who is familiar with this gun? Should I paint the front site? The rear site is adjustable and is highlighted white. The front sight is black.

I was shooting (trying) at shoot-n-c targets this afternoon but I couldn't locate the front site on the black target. Is this a normal problem?

Good choice on starting with a .22. You can't go wrong. Not familiar with the Beretta but other guys here probably do.

Welcome to the club! A 22 is not only a great starter pistol, but probably the one you will shoot the most. Great choice! I don't have the Berreta, but I have used hot pink nail polish on many metal front sights. If you decide you don't like it later, it is easy enough to remove.

have fun and be safe! Cb

Bright orange model paint is usually my preferred method. Stays on, comes off if you want it. Go to a hobby store.

Use a flat white undercoat if you are going to use any of the day-glo flourescent colors

    Fixed it for you.

Normally, if the target is a bullseye and the sights are black, you hold at six o'clock. In other words perch the circle of the target on the front sight.

Check to see if your Neos is being recalled. Recently Beretta has announced a recall for Neos pistols. Here is the address for all info from Beretta concerning whether or not your pistol is recalled and how to notify them if it needs to go back for work:

    http://www.berettasupport.com/neos/

I never liked the sights on my Neos so I mounted a 40 USD Tasco red dot on it and quite enjoy shooting with the red dot. However, a red dot is not for everyone.

    This.

Screw painting the sights. Get a cheap red dot. It's more fun.

Checked before I purchased, it is either manufactured after Beretta found out about this problem or was recently sent back and hard the repairs complete.

red dots are very fun and something you may want later but if this is your first pistol than I presume your a beginner. If this is true than I would recommend learning the basics of pistol marksmanship with iron sights before moving on to more advanced sighting systems.
