OP, get a hunting license and you can legally end the annoyance with a shotgun. You can even hunt crows seven days a week.

Is there a distance from my house or the houses of neighbors I need to be to employ the shotgun? A safe shot is not a problem, just checking for regs.

Can I bait the SOB? Any suggestions for that?

Although, in my experience, "making it go away" usually doesn't work with nuisance animals. Unless it means "away" away. But I'm open to suggestions.
You ARE allowed to kill it, provided you kill it legally. Like Greg posted above, obtain a hunting license and blast it with any approved hunting arm for crows, in season, and other game laws, etc.

    From the PGC site:
A safety zone for firearms hunters is the area within 150 yards of an occupied residence, camp, industrial or commercial building, farm house or farm building, school or playground.
I didn't turn up a specific citation, but I believe that baiting - specifically hunting over bait may be permitted in very limited circumstances, but is generally prohibited.

You can shoot it in season, otherwise they are actually protected and have to be shot by PGC.(If out of season and you're unlicensed) Just make sure it's absolutely a crow and not a raven, which are 100% protected by the migratory birg act and I believe there is no season for. Read my post above..if legal, owl decoys work very well!

General hunting regs state 500' of any structure *unless* you own it or have permission from owner.

When you get your hunting license you get the digest that has this type of basics in it. Or read it at the PGC website. It will also probably be covered in the hunter education course (needed before you obtain hunting license)

If you don't want to go through all that then perhaps....

I'm pretty sure that crow hunting is on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only. And I think there is a closed season in the late spring.

Safety zones are 150 yds from occupied occupied houses buildings etc.

It's all in the Digest which is online

Scarecrows and rubber owls don't work without backup in my experience.

I was asking about the regs to determine if it is even worth getting a hunting license in the first place, not so I would know what to do once I had it. I can assure you I would educate myself. I'm asking these questions because I'm screening options. The responses have been very valuable, thank you all.

I have neighbors within 150 yards, I guess it's time for a talk.

    The citation is:
    Title 34. sec.2308(a)(8)

I see no exception for crows, only coyotes.
