Wolanyk settles for $35k from San Diego in false arrest
Wolanyk settles for $35k from San Diego in false arrest
The calguns foundation is representing him. The case has been pending for the last two years and the settlement seems to cover only legal fees. It also includings a finding that the man was innocent.

Good that its a favorable decision but not much of a impact on SD with just covering fees. Cali is just a strange and screwed up state.

Not a victory until a
Zero or two is added to that payout

I think it is a victory for our neighbors to the west.
LEOs are now going to be (hopefully) aware, and educated that citizens have at least a few rights over there.
Is it a huge victory, no. I would be happier if things like this never happened to begin with. But, a small victory is still a +1 for our side of the fence.I'm so fast, I can bump fire a bolt action.
