Re: hornady critical defense
I use them in my 442. As said recoil isnt huge but I'll probably try a couple different rounds next time I go on an ammo run.

Re: hornady critical defense
I have shot about 100 rounds of the +P flavor in both my Smith model 642 1 7/8 in barrel and my 386 Mountain Lite 3.2 inch barrel. I also carry this ammo as well as the old school 158 grain LSWCHP "FBI load" in +P.
This is good ammo and it performs well at the range. It shoots a little low in both of the above mentioned revolvers because they were both set up for 158 grain loads. (The 110 grain load leaves the barrel earlier, causing it to strike targets a bit lower the heavier, slower bullets.)
This is world class defensive ammunition, carry it with confidence.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Re: hornady critical defense
Although I am not a .38, I will chime in. I am far from rich, even bordering the poverty line....but I still carry and function test this ammo. I carry it in .45acp and my gf carries it in 9mm... We have each fired around a 100-200 through our carry guns and feel confident with them. Nickel cases are a nice plus, low flash powder, and the anti clog hollow-point are also really favorable to me.

Re: hornady critical defense
Anyone know for sure (more than opinion) if these are OK in NJ with their $1000 fine and jail time for hollow points?

Re: hornady critical defense
Depends on the round. I don't notice a big difference from 158 gr non +p loads to my carry ammo Winchester 130 gr +p Supreme Elite Bonded PDX1. Now shooting lighter FMJ feels different than shooting 158 gr, but the +p doesn't feel like a huge step up. It might just be me, it's all perception.
I like these for a couple reasons. Wal Mart carries them, and they always have them. Makes getting quality defense ammo easy.
