    Default 9mm reccomendations?

I just got a Kel Tec P11 last week and I bought a box of Winchester FMJ to shoot through it and break it in. When I start CCWing I'd like to have a good self-defense round and I doubt the FMJ would be as effective as a good hollow point.

This being my first pistol, I wasn't sure what I should be looking for. I visited the Kel Tec forum and it can do +P ammo for occasional use but there were also some users who said that normal loads would work OK too.

Does anyone reccomend a decent 9mm self-defense round?

Corbons are pretty effective JHP,they are the only rounds i would carry in my CC gun , i have the 125 gr +p corbons in my SR9 right now, the 115gr are also very effective manstoppers.

Never heard of them. I'll have to look into it. For the P11 they said you can do +p occasionally, but shouldn't put a lot through it.

That really goes for any gun. Shooting +p accelerates the wear and tear caused by standard pressure bullets. Conversely, shooting a lot of light loads decelerates your standard wear and tear. That's why a lot of reloaders (myself included on most handgun loads) use the minimum load that still has enough power to properly cycle the action.
loose≠lose; you're=you are; 'your' shows possession.

When I had my PF9 I put about a box and a half of Hornady Critical Defense through mine and it fired just fine. I like Hornady I think its good stuff.

everyone has their personal preference when it comes to self defense ammo...

I use Winchester Ranger, and am waiting for Federal HST's. I currently have 124 +p Winchesters and am looking to get 147gr +p HST's.

We are only talking about a few hundred +p rounds though, nothing extreme.
