    Default Glock grip reduction?

I am thinking about purchasing a Glock but I have a hard time shooting them as the grip is too big for my hands .
Is it a good idea to sand the grip down myself ?
also any other ideas that do not involve paying big$.
    thanks.

I have the same problem. Did you try the new Gen4 with the detachable backstraps? It's slightly better. You can also buy extended controls for the previous Gen Glocks very cheap that also helps.

As for grinding down, I don't know how much you could take off and still be safe. Maybe somebody here will be able to help you out.

I attended a firearms class at TDI in Ohio earlier this year. The primary instructor was Dave Bowie from Bowie Tactical Concepts.

I had a chance to try out one of his custom Glock 19s with the grip reduction. Pretty cool. In fact, I have been thinking about sending one of my three 19s to him for some custom work. (However some training opportunities have come up, so the custom gun will have to wait a bit.)

Here is the link to his website: http://www.bowietacticalconcepts.com/

In the past I have shot a Glock 26 and Glock 21 with grip reductions done by Robar, very nice indeed.

I also know that there are lots of guys doing it themselves, but that's not me.

    Good luck with your search.

I had the same problem..my answer was simple I no longer own any Glocks . I own a Rughr SR9c now thats just as reliable and has better ergonomics..

I thought about doing exactly what your contemplating a grip job/reduction but I was not willing to do it without being able to get a gun in hand with said reduction(what if it came back and I didnt like it or it was wrong somehow) but could not bring myself to do it for the listed reason..plus you irrevocably change the gun most likely lowering value(cause its not like a grip paneled gun you can just change grips back to stock)..So I just decided to do the next logical thing..switch to a brand/gun thats just as reliable and actually fits my hand well...Only Glock in the whole lineup id own now is the 36 as its the ONLY one that fits my hand.

I had my G21 sent out to Robar some years ago. They shaved off the backstrap and then stippled it...nice job but not cheap.

Brownells website has a pretty informative tutorial on reducing the grip size for the glock if you haven't found what you are looking for yet. I am going to start doing mine soon, to adjust the grip angle.
