Re: Sig P228
It's all a preferance on what u feel more comfortable with I know but I prefer no safety and even though sig has a high slide I shoot my sig 228 better than any gun I've owned except a 226 9mm and it was a close call by the way does anyone know a place that sells the 17 rnd act mags pretty fair priced? Or have any they want to sell

Re: Sig P228
I had a German folded slide 220 and a US made 220. The German slide was definitely balanced better, I should have kept it.
I have a 228 in-bound tomorrow myself, hoping it's all I hear it is as well. I have a pair of 229s so hopefully holsters etc will interchange.

Re: Sig P228
The P229's slide is a one piece, one ounce heavier, milled slide originally made for the hotter 9mm NATO 124 grain round due to possibly unneccessary requirements by a certain unit. The P228's slide is two piece and stamped metal, which works just fine.
The P228, much like the Gock 19, is an all around great combat handgun. The balance of firepower, capacity, size, and reliability make it a wonderful selection.
I carried an issue M11/SIG P228 for five years and loved it. That experience led me to buying and carrying a P229R DAK. I would have gotten a P228, but I was required to carry a pistol in .40S&W.Last edited by Pointman73; December 13th, 2010 at 01:21 AM.

Re: Sig P228
Just got my 228 today and went to the range. 150 flawless rounds and it's definitely a shooter.
Cold out there though...
