Replacing pinned front sight on S&W revolver?
I made a crazy impulse purchase this weekend and bought a Smith and Wesson 629 in .44 Magnum. It's quickly becoming the favorite handgun in my arsenal, but I don't care for the sights. I want to throw a fiber optic front sight on the end of it and was wondering how involved such an installation is?
Is it just a matter of drifting the pin out enough to pull the old front sight out and then drifting the pin back in after the new sight is in place, or is there more to it than that? Is there a particular size/type of punch I should be using?

Re: Replacing pinned front sight on S&W revolver?
i dont have mine in front of me and dont remember offhand how its set up, but most of the pinned frt sites come undrilled. you drift the pins right out and place the new frt site in place to spot the holes.
