Ruger LCP, strange machining mark inside of barrel chamber
Finally got to shoot my new LCP today. Had no problems with it at all except for two fail to feeds with some Winchester silvertips I was testing out, not too bad for a new gun that's barely broken in. Upon cleaning, I noticed a strange machining mark inside of the chamber of the barrel. While the gun shot fine, the mark definitely causes me some concern. Any thoughts?

Think I'd talk to Ruger about it. Just checked my LCP and looks fine. Over 300 rds and not one feed or ejection problem.

Yeah I don't like the looks of that. Especially how it is almost perfectly lined up with the hood. Could cause a snap there from weakness after time. Call Ruger.

Thanks, I'm gonna get ahold of them on Monday. Can't believe this slipped through their QC.

Re: Ruger LCP, strange machining mark inside of barrel chamber
Got my LCP back earlier this week. New barrel looks beautiful. Ruger actually polished the feedramp of the new barrel like I requested which I wasn't expecting them to actually do. Installed my 12lb Wollf spring and Shot it yesterday, 2 boxes of Remington FMJ and half a box of Fiocchi HP. No jams or problems whatsoever.

I love it. Super comfortable to carry and it's surprsingly not that bad to shoot.

Re: Ruger LCP, strange machining mark inside of barrel chamber
There is a definite break in period of about 250 rounds before it really becomes reliable.
I had three FTEs in the first 150 rounds. Although one was when I intentionally limp wristed the firearms so I don't really count that.
At the target range I am about as accurate with it as I am m Sigma SW9VE but not as accurate as pistols with better triggers epically SA. This however is pre staging the trigger. If I do a full trigger pull in one motion I'm still pulling to the right about 4-5" @ 12 yards. I think its the short distance from the trigger to the rear of the grip that is causing me trouble. But I have reduced the amount I am off significantly from 12+ inches @ 12 yards from when I first got the firearm.
My limit is shooting about 25 rounds out of the gun for any range session. After that my accuracy starts to decline due to fatigue.
This defiantly is not a gun you take to the range to plink through 250 rounds. But every time I am out I shoot it to maintain and increase my proficiency with it.
