Actually if NJ did pass a form of concealed carry this would be the "reform"
    I'd expect.

This just doesn't make much sense IMO. If this is a stealth way to get shall-issue in NJ, its going to make things worse by not only the outrageous fee, but semi-annual qualification AND psychological evaluation? Best bet would be to let the federal courts just knock down justifiable need and then everyone will only pay 20$ for 2 years plus possibly the 60$ fingerprinting fee.

The only problem is you will NEVER get a " normal" and common sense carry bill into law thru the NJ State Legislature. I personally warned Senate President Steve Sweeney in a face to face meeting that NJ was on the verge of being deluged under a tsunami of lawsuits over their ridiculous gun laws in the wake of Heller and McDonald and so far we've gotten bumpkis.

If piecemeal is how it got this bad, then piecemeal is what its going to take to whittle away at it. Just the facts of life in the Peoples Socialist Republic of NJ

None of this is going to happen with Laurel and Hardy (Lautenberg and Menendez) still in office.

Is anyone aware of any such lawsuits? I would love to follow their progress.

    That would be ME !

Scott Bach and ANJRPC already have one in Federal Court over OGAM, and a little birdie has whispered in my ear that several others are in the stages of being put together with the input and assistance of some very highly placed expert legal help. Its my understanding there is also an active and ongoing search for an " Otis McDonald" type candidate in NJ to apply for a CCW and get denied to start the ball rolling on CCW reform. Not to be too Machaveliian or anything, but I really cant go into any more detail then that without jeopardizing the trust of my sources, sorry...................

It could. A court may find semi-annual qualification and psychological testing "reasonable". The $500 fee will not stand.

As of today, I have a meeting scheduled for next Monday evening with Senator Van Drew to discuss this bill, the high likelyhood that the fee will be struck down as unduly burdensome and offer what ever other assistance, information, etc I can to assist him in this and any other firearms related issues. I'll let you know how the meeting goes.
