    Default Stuck roll pin. HALP!!

I'm working on installing an aftermarket grip with an integral trigger guard on my AR and the roll pin in the front of the trigger guard is stuck. I don't have a set of roll pin punches but I've been using standard punches for removing roll pins on my AR before and never had a problem like this.

I supported the receiver "ears" with blocks of wood, soaked the crap out of the roll pin with PB Blaster and banged on that roll pin with an 1/8 punch and a ball peen hammer for a good hour and the damn thing wont budge.

Instead of trying to find a set of roll pin punches, can someone recommend me a good smith anywhere in between montgomeryville and the lehigh valley? I'd feel better letting a pro handle it at this point so I don't break anything.

Or maybe one of you has a set of roll pin punches and would be willing to help a brotha out?

    Thanks!

Can you bring it to Chalfont?
I have the proper punches. If it will not punch out, it can be drilled out on the milling machine.

Sure, I could bring it to Chalfont. That's only about 15 mins from my work.

I thought about trying to drill it out but only have hand drills. A milling machine would be great.

Thanks for the offer! I'll send you a PM.

A roll pin punch would make quick work of this. I wish I lived closer as I could help you out with this. I think it's a No 3 roll pin punch that should do the trick.

Drill a hole in a wooden block to catch the pin. Take off the grip and heat her with propane. It should come right out.

I got it! Just took some patience. I soaked it with penetrating oil and pounded on it a few times with a hammer/punch twice a day for the past 3 days, and yesterday afternoon it finally came loose. Zero damage to the receiver.

    Thanks for the help!!
