Question Night Sights; Are they worth the $ ?

I have decided that I am getting an XDm in .40 caliber. I don't need a bunch of opinions on other guns. I want opinions on the value of night sights, what is the best brand and what brand comes on an XDm if ordered from the factory?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Unhappy Re: Night Sights; Are they worth the $ ?

Well, I have 1 with night sights, 2 rear & 1 on the front post. When I look down the top of the slide in very low light, I see six dots in a horizontal row. Pick any 2 to put in the middle. Is there any way you can try before you buy?

Ummmm are you drinking or otherwise partaking in medicinal useage when your seeing double ?? LOL. Sounds ALOT more like your sight plane is way off or something about your grip or stance or something. Without seeing you demonstrate its impossible to diagnose.

But I have NEVER heard of someone seeing double images of their sights unless their eyesight or glasses were screwy or they were blitzed out of their gourd. Just sayin...................

Are night sights worth it? Depends on what you have the gun for.

Night sights are a no-brainer for guns intended for self defense. If it's just going to be a plinker, then there's no point.

If you will be carrying your gun for self-defense, and will be carrying it at night, then you need to get night sights. I suggest XS Big Dots, they are the best self defense sights money can buy.

XS Big Dots would fix this. It's a V in the rear and HUGE dot in front. Makes it virtually impossible to miss, even under stressful situations.

Unless of course you forget to flick off the safety on the draw stroke or even worse your carrying on an empty chamber because its dangerous to carry a handgun with one in the chamber , it might accidentally go off after all ! Besides you only need a few extra seconds to chamber the round anyway.

Sarcascm to the Nth degree there
