Life is good in NC then. On a different note, seeing as how your a vet have you taken advantage of the Post 911 GI bill? If not you should look into it, I did and not only are they paying for my books & tuition but they are providing me with a housing allowance too.

The signs and advertisements are very popular too, I am not sure if the beer is actually from Pottsville , I heard a rumor that Budweiser actually brews it somewhere in SC

    Thanks for all the welcomes,

Born in Pottsville, raised in St. Clair, graduated from St. Clair High. moved back after retiring from the Army a few years ago. Now I hang out at "The Bucky" and shoot up the Burma. If any of you want to go pop some caps, give me a holler. And yes, the Buckhorn sells all kinds of Yuengling beer.

I hate to break it to you, but Corn and Rice are called "Adjuncts", they are a cheaper way to get fermentable sugars. All of the "mainstream" brewers use them.

They do NOT belong in beer!

    Drink Micro-Brews.

Beer should only have 4 ingredients; Water, Barley, Yeast, & Hops.
In Germany this is the law.

    BLASPHEMY!!!!!

Yuengling Lager is the pinnacle of beer evolution!!

Now we're all gonna hafta come down there and give you an ass-whoopin'!!
    Just kidding

I spent a year and a half in Bavaria (Hohenfels). I remember a lot of wonderful German beers. Unfortunately, I was usually too inebriated to really appreciate them. It's surprising I didn't get myself killed.

I spent 3 years in Germany, stationed at Bitburg Air Base...... home of the Fighting 36th TFW and Bitburger Pilsner....... German beer is an acquired taste as it is nothing like American beer. And it packs a punch, many a night I"m not sure how I stumbled back to my dorm from the NCO club. LOL I still love my Yuengling though.

You got that right Chez. I spent 9 years over there. Drank mostly Weizen. There's no way I could drink the Pilsner, way too bitter for me.

Hey Gotammo, I had a few friends transfer to the 563rd during our draw-down of our Pershings. I was up your way in the mid '80's to pick up some PII's. I went back to Germany in '03 as a civie, a lot has changed.

I was in Deutchland in 82/83 with the 2/11th ACR, Bad Kissingen, we patrolled 144 km of the E/W Border, There was nothing like rolling in to a Gasthaus in a Border town. The locals really appreciated us.
