Re: UMMM WTF?
looks pretty stupid. shotgun loads don't appreciably spread at HD ranges. and the blunderbuss wasn't designed to spread shot, it was designed to be loaded faster!

Re: UMMM WTF?
Actually, I think that I have the dumbest idea evah for a shotgun. I'm monitoring eBay to see if I can find a cheap ADE 651 to mount on my bolt-action JC Higgins 12 Ga.
The ADE 651 is the bomb/gun/drug detecting dowsing rod that a British company was selling to the Iraqi army for $16,000 a pop (for a total of about $80 million) until their CEO was arrested for fraud. It has no electronic parts except for a slot in which you insert an RFID card from KMart (but nothing there to read it). It's supposed to work for targets up to 1.2 miles away. It has killed hundreds of Iraqis, mostly folk whom it's supposed to be protecting.
I figure why spend on some electronic gew gaw with batteries that run down to mount on a shotgun rail when you can get a modified Land Rover radio antenna that picks up bad guys by using your own body's sweat, static electricity, and Kyrllian aura. How bad can it be?
When I get it done, I'll post pictures (or x-rays).
Here's the ADE 651 reference:

Re: UMMM WTF?
I'd like to see information about velocity and pattern before I make up my mind. Unfortunately, his web site no longer exists.

Re: UMMM WTF?
Haha I typed sawn off shotgun laws PA and it came up... I know it has to be 26" or longer without a stamp, but didn't knoe anything else, I bought a super cheap shotgun and barrel is bent and stock it cracked kind of bad but there's enough room to make a little 27 inch 12 gauge. Since it's a cheap shotgun and don't care about looks can I just throw some electrical tape like you see in movies haha

Re: UMMM WTF?
I think its a great idea. And all true. The shot immediately starts spreading with a negative choke -- it WILL produce wider dispersion faster. This is true and useful. The reduced time to accelerate the shot column makes it slower, thereby, less over-penetration. True and useful albeit less effective on impact. Scary to look down. True and an added benefit of bell-barreled blunderbuses. The noise I can't attest to, but, aimed at someone, I supposed it could have effect -- hopefully you can handle it too.
No, I'm not going to buy it either, but, there's something to be said for it.

Re: UMMM HUH?
construction paper and/or photoshop. come on folks. believing that nonsense "story" is akin to believing that Obama is a foreign-born muslim.
as an aside, i'm not sure it's the worst idea in the world, i am just certain that the picture and story are made up joke.

Re: UMMM HUH?
So, Mr. Obama isn't a foreign-born Muslim? Is he an American-born Muslim or a foreign-born Christian (who went to church for the 3rd time in 19 months this past weekend) then?
