Just thought I would share for any other students returning back to classes wondering how a package can be pieced together cheaply. *

600 rounds through my kel tec pf9 and not a hiccup except for a rusting slide from being stuck to my flabby side for two months straight.

Kel tec pf9. $250 otd new
Inner tube slip on grip. $2.47
    KT belt clip. $18
    spare mag. $22
    kahr mag pinky extensions. $13

Well done. I'm glad to see a student willing to take responsibility for their own well being. Now, keep it to yourself while at school lest you run afoul of the powers which dictate they will provide for your security. You know, the ones who stop drug use, underage drinking, vandalism and rape on campuses.

Sweet set-up and, FYI, I can afford pretty much any carry pistol I want and I carry a PF9 in my pocket everyday as well. It is inexpensive so I don't mind bumping it, reliable as hell, totally easy to conceal, and 7+1 of 9mm beats 5 rnds of .38 IMHO.

I did the snubby with CT grips, the Kahr, the G26, and the LCP and, for my money, the PF9 is as good as it gets at any price for deep concealment.

Well done Zet. I got to fire someone's PF9 at the ZRT shoot a few weeks ago. It's a slick little fella, very concealable.

Rep for being a smart (and armed) student.

The inner tube on the grip is a wonderful thing!

Re: the oxidation on the skin side of the pistol, keep it clean and pick up one of the rebluing pens at Dicks/Gander Mt./Cabelas. Just don't put it on too heavy and let it set over night or you'll end up w/ a nicely blued love handle.

Another thought is to visit Tandy Leather factory down in Allentown. You can pick up some scrap leather, an awl, some thread and a belt clip for $15-20 bucks and you get a home-made holster as well.

As mentioned upthread, I also have more expensive handguns but, my pf9 is my daily carry piece.

    Thanks guys!

I tried doing a real Saturday night special pocket piece for a week. Both a Tangfolio .25 and a Beretta .32. Neither one felt like I was actually carrying a gun. I like the way the pf9 fills my hand, sticks to my side, and packs a 9mm.

As others have mentioned, Ill be buying a higher end 1911 when I graduate but the pf9 will always be on the carry rotation come summer wardrobe.

Only problem I have found so far is that when racking a hollow point sometime the round won't seat properly and the slide wont fully return. No problem when firing, just that intital first rack. I solved this proble by polishing the ramp and keeping one in the chamber : )
