Good magnifier; flip to side?
Can anyone recommend a quality magnifier in 3x to 5x that I'd plan to mount as a flip to side behind my EoTech? I'm hoping for less than $100, is this possible or will I end up with a P.O.S and get what I pay for? Thanks!

Re: Good magnifier; flip to side?
I have a Primary Arms Deluxe 3x magnifier and am very happy with it.
It sits in a Larue LT649 flip-to-side mount and is quick and convenient.
While I couldn't justify the $400+ for an Aimpoint or Eotech 3x, I am a huge fan of Larue mounts and they are worth the money IMO.

Since the "mouth" of the PA 3x is a bit larger than the Eotech 3x, it's pretty tricky to mount.
PM me if you want a walk through.

Re: Good magnifier; flip to side?
I have a Mako 5x that I picked up from Sportsman's Guide for a little over $100. Paired with my Eotech I had no trouble hitting 500 yard silhouettes at the Zombie shoot. I have heard people complain, but its clear as a bell and has a great warranty.

Re: Good magnifier; flip to side?
No, I realized that some situations would not be good for a magnified optic (short range targets). I wanted to get the flip mount, but instead got Mako's version - it actually springs up rather than flips to the side.

It works very well, but you have to get used to it - I didnt practice using it while 'popped up'. As a result, when I had to do CQB in competition, I was distracted by trying to look through the magnifier rather than the Eotech. With practice this should be no problem, but it was disconcerting at first.

It does look like that would need some getting used to.I may have to go with the larue on that..... You're satisfied with the optic itself? Its not blurry, does the eyepiece focus?

You can focus the ocular portion to bring it into focus. I really like the clarity.
