Default Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club - any good?

I'm thinking about joining LPRGC - my new job is a stones throw away from their grounds. I've heard good things about the range facilities, but some iffy things about the range management itself. Any big reasons to steer clear of this range? If not, are any fellow PAFOAers who shoot there willing to sponsor a new member?

We have some members here, I was thinking of joining. Will get more response in the 'local' subforums... =)

I've only shot trap there as a non-member, everyone was very friendly though. Seems like a nice club.

Having been a member for 25+ years, I enjoy it. Note that there are strict requirements for other than shooting from behind a table in any of the ranges, and the requirement for shooting alone is not onerous but you have to show that you are safe and capable.

Due to my work schedule, I cannot sponsor as I am not in the area during the week, but if you go along on the first Tuesday of the month and let people know at the general meeting that you would like to join, they will welcome you. Dave_n

I've been a member for 35+ years and can tell you that LPRGC is a great club. We recently renovated the 100 yard rifle range and will soon complete a new outdoor pistol range.

The general meeting is held on the 1st Tuesday of each month and is a good time to check out the club. Get there around 7pm and introduce yourself - someone will be more than happy to help you out.

Visit our web site for more information - http://www.lprgc.org

I echo the positive comments. Come on out.

It's a very cool place, I just joined and can't wait to become a full member. I just went through the pistol qualification and looking forward for the rifle.

LOTS OF SAFETY ISSUES. SEVERAL SHOOTINGS THAT WERE SELF INFLICTED IN RECENT MONTHS. BULLETS SHATTERING CAR WINDOWS DURING PISTOL EVENTS. STRIKING DOORS.. GETTING WORSE. I HAVE NOT BEEN AT THE CLUB TO SHOOT WITHOUT BEING SWEPT WITH FIREARM IN LAST 5 VISITS. THE PRODUCT THEY SELL IS DEFECTIVE. STRICT LIABLE PRINCIPLE WILL BRING IT ALL DOWN. LAST SHOOTING OCCURRED DURING THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING.

Troll much? You signed up and dug out this three year old thread to trash talk a gun club?

I live down the road from LPR&GC and didn't hear about any accidental shootings nor have my windows been shot out. There are also plenty of newer threads about this club but coincidentally this is the one that pops up on Google. Sounds like someone did poorly on their pistol qualification
