    Default Local competitive pistol shooting

Are there any clubs or ranges in the Centre County area that host competitive pistol shoots that aren't too serious?

I've been shooting pistols for quite a while, but don't have much competitive experience. I'd like to get back to trying it though. I'm not looking for a heavy competitive atmosphere though. In times past, I mostly go competing against myself, just trying to improve and have a good time.

well i have been told of 2 places sofar... one is a range in lewistown that does the whole idpa thing... not sure if thats too serious for you or not but in the end your really playing against yourself to make yourself better....

and then there is a shooting club in the state college area by the airport which has alot of themed days... only prop is in order to get in you need to know someone... be invited... meet all of their criteria.... get atleast 2 votes from random people and abide by all of their rules/regulations/guidlines.... i would love to join but my work schedule wont let me get to their 2 meetings thats mandatory in order to join...

the name of the second one i cant remember but one of the threads below has a whole story on them...

Outdoor Sportsmen's Club. They're up on Purdue Mountain. A bunch of rich State College pistol snobs mostly. If you show up with anything less than a Kimber, they'll look down their noses at you and laugh.
