    Default Part-Time Police Officers needed

I don't have much info on this. Braddock Hills Policed Dept is looking for PT Police officers. I'd suggest contacting Braddock Hills Boro for more info.

    Braddock Hills Borough
    Wilkins Avenue and Brinton Road
    Pittsburgh, PA 15221
    Telephone: 412-241-5080

Please post if you obtain additional information.

I'd apply, but I'm getting a little to old for chasing bad guys.

    Hawk,

a good number of departments are always looking for part timers... i'd prefer not to do a job where i can get injured a thousand diff ways, but have no health insurance..

The wife keeps telling me that I should be a cop. Not sure why, and don't really think I'd want to. I would work any job to support my wife and future family but given the choice I would rather have a slightly safer existance.

Not a slam against part-time officers, since we have several on our department, and I started as a part-time officer, but I really wish they would do away with them.

The municipalities take advantage of them by not paying health benefits, no vacation or sick days, low pay, etc.

I don't believe Philly uses any part-time officers. Only the smaller municipalities use them claiming they cannot afford to pay for full-time officers.

i'd rather have slightly higher taxes and all full time officers than how alot of small departments are doing it now. The borough I work in used to have 8fulltime guys, last I heard they had 23 part timers, some work a shift a month, some work just under 40hrs, and a majority I have never met. and some guys work in 2 or 3 diff departments

Yup....thats the way it is in most areas. Most guys work multiple departs, often working doubles and I know of a few that have even worked triples.
