Default Just A Word Of Warning

Went in to pick up my LTCF today around 1:30 and they asked for any out of state licenses. I gave them my copies of my Utah and New Hampshire licenses along with the copy of Pa and the girl (she wasn't wearing a uniform)told me that a copy of a Pa. LTCF was illegal as far as carry was concerned. She didn't get smartass about it, but took the copy along with the one about to expire and shredded them both after she threatened to give them to the sheriff. Said they didn't care what Utah did, but in in good old Pa. , it was a no-no. Paid my $25.00 and left. Just a heads up.

So glad she did not tell the sheriff on you...WHEW! She did you a HUGE favor!

Some sheriffs actually make a copy for you to carry...the ones who still issue the large size, paper licenses.

They offer to reduce in size and laminate a copy for you to carry...telling you to keep the original LTCF safe at home.

Funny, a Lycoming Co. Deputy Sheriff made a 75% reduced copy of mine for me when I stated it would not fit in my wallet. You almost have to wonder why they call it the "Uniform Firearm Act". Not too uniform from what I can see.

Did you ask her for a citation?

No-I didn't want to start up with her since there were about 6 others there. I was going to try and e mail the sheriff or phone just for a clarification.

They also told me and others that 'concealed means concealed' and we all know how truthful that was/is.

And what entitles them to know about your out of state ones??

That's OK...that's why he carries copies...never know when a shred-happy sheriff's employee is lurking about

Why would they ask you if you had any out of state licenses? As far as i know you do NOT need to tell them if you do or not, maybe someone else can chime in on this...
