opinions on colt 6920
I'm thinking of picking up a second AR for the hell of it. I already have a s&w m&p15 and was thinking about the Colt because of their rep. Can only owners out there give me your opinions on this rifle? Is there any significant difference between the one I already have and the Colt? Probably gonna cruise down to Tanners in a little bit and check them out.
Now less Glock, more H&K :)

Re: opinions on colt 6920
I have a colt 6920 and a bushmaster to me there is no comparison
The Colt is superior. But that's my opinion it really depends on what you want it for. If you want a home defense SHTF weapon go with the colt
Not to say that SW isn't any good but Colt is a mil spec weapon Google m4 chart and you'll see a comparison chart its much easier to do than for me to explain in detail. I had my Bushmaster 3 months and one of the gas rings on broke No big deal easy to replace but for quality Colt is better

Re: opinions on colt 6920
You will not be disappointed with a colt 6920. I've ran mine in a few carbine classes shooting a bunch of rounds and have never had a failure.
Buy it if it's a good price. $1100 or less is a good price these days.

Re: opinions on colt 6920
Thanks, went to Tanners and they were all sold out of the 6920's
I was even more disappointed when they told me they just sold one not even 24 hours ago that was used but never fired!!!
Maybe next time...but I didn't come away empty handed, check out the gun pics threads for my new toy...Now less Glock, more H&K :)

Re: opinions on colt 6920
I would not part with my 6920 for anything! I have a few AR15s And the Colt is by far my nicest Rifle. Btw Harrisburg gun show I seen a 6920 New for $1095.00 and a used one for a little bit less.

Re: opinions on colt 6920
I have had my Colt LE 6920 for perhaps two years now and hundreds of rounds. Not one issue yet. Great rifle.
Pardon the question but if you already own the S&W M&P15 why do you need the Colt? Both are mil-spec; both have great reputations; both are considered near the top of the food chain. Imo, they are like twins (almost).
There was a great write-up in the American Rifleman not too long ago and they raved about the S&W line of ARs.

Re: opinions on colt 6920
You know Grumpa, thats why I was kind of on the fence about the whole thing. I really really like my m and p. Never had a failure or problem with it. I added some accesories to it including c-more tactical red dot sight, vertical forend grip and a yankee hill quad rail. I want to keep it as it is, but its a /little heavier now with that quad rail, and the Colt would be a lighter carbine alternative to that. I have that issue of A.R. too, and was pleased to see the positive write up.
