    Default American Tactical 92C Centurion

Finally got to the range with my new American Tactical 92C Centurion ( Beretta Clone ). Shot flawlessly with cheap ammo - nice grouping, very happy - especially at $299 !!! For whatever reason did not realize the ambi slide safety was a de-cocker - I really like that feature. Can't go wrong with this one - highly recommended. So far, only thing I have done is put some Hogue grips on it - now just shopping for a nice holster.
Can't get pic to download for some reason so here's link to my photobucket:

the 92 is a great design, though somehow it's never been my favorite to shoot. that said it is so reliable, it is a top choice for a nightstand gun. it sounds like this clone is a great option for people looking for an inexpensive night-stand gun. i assume the takedown is just as incredibly easy as the beretta? have you tried various HP rounds to see if it's as reliable? my beretta eats EVERYTHING.

i love the fact that the brand of this clone is called "American Tactical" and it's a turkish-made clone of an italian designed gun that was traditionally produced in italy (until they started US production to deal with contract demand). globalization is funny stuff.

Is the front sight on these integral to the slide, like on the Beretta 92?

Or is it dovetailed or staked on?

Seems like a nice range or night stand gun for only $300 (Berettas and their clones are just a bit to big for me to conceal well, personally).

    Regards,

    Bones

Hmmm, not sure - here's a pic, can you tell? I agree for carry even this smaller centurion is too bulky for me. I'll be using it for the range mainly, then some winter carry. Still have the XD 40 in the nightstand
Adding photobucket link seeing pics still won't post through "manage attachment"

Tough to tell for sure, as I think I see a longitudinal seam along the base of the sight blade, which mean maybe it's dovetailed in from the front (possible), or perhaps it's simply integral to the slide...

Even if the front sight is integral, if you decided you just *had* to have a front night sight, you could always send the slide to Tool Tech to have then drill out the dot and install a tritium lamp.

Test her out w/ some JHP and let us know how it goes!

    Regards,

    Bones
