Buying a new gun.

I was looking to buy a new carry gun. I have a Kel-Tec P11. I had a Walther P990 in the past. I liked how it felt. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.

Sorry, I am looking to spend around 600 dollars. I really enjoy the feel of the Walther. I also like Styer pistols. I have a 9mm right now but, I prefer 40 cal better. I enjoyed how the Walther shot. The kel-tec shoots nice but, i think it is kinda small for my hand.

Inexpensive, very reliable, often maligned, (you'd have to really WORK at it to use it for Bullseye target shooting) but eminently servicable for most use, IDPA, daily carry, etc:

The Smith & Wesson 9VE or 40 VE (Sigma).

It has a grip angle and feel that fits some people well, and you could do worse. I personally like it, and it seems there are quite a number of others who agree. - - -And some come down on the opposite side of that, too.

Go to a range or shop, hold one, check it out. Shoot it if you can.

OC or CC? If CC, it depends how you dress daily, but if you're a businessmen, or a fit guy who doesn't like cargo pants and baggy shirts, i'd suggest a Kahr PM9.

I have a M&P 9C that i love (amazing performance, and soft shooting for a compact), and a TCP .380 that i love the convenience of. i've decided that the Kahr should be my next carry piece. no excuses to never have it on me. i'd be very nervous at the idea of a firefight with my TCP (same with an LCP) given the weak sites, etc. The PM9 i feel like i could engage a little further out of need be. low capacity, but super concealable.

you could do the M&P 40c. fantastic piece. for $600 you could get a nice holster and an extra mag too (comes with two, also).

for $600 he can afford to do better than the Sigma, and the M&P is undeniably better. of course, i agree he should shoot your recommendation too, if even just for a comparison. you never know, he might prefer it.
