Scotia range question
Hey guys,
I'm new to the area. I've been to PGC ranges before, but never one as nice as the Scotia Range. I drove by and checked it out two weekends ago. Looks like a different setup than most PGC ranges.
Does Scotia still have the 6 round limit for pistols and 3 round limit for rifles? It looked like some guys had target holders out there. Are they stored there at the range or do I need to bring my own? What's the pistol range like?
Thanks

Re: Scotia range question
PGC ranges all have the 6 round handgun and 3 round rifle limits. However, at Scotia, if the right range person is there he will let you get away with more as long as you don't rapid fire them. As he would say, "take a couple breaths between every 3 (or 6) rounds". Now if he knows that there are WCO's in the area, he will tell you and will run the range strictly by the rules.
In the formal shooting area the target holders and backers are stored in the sheds. All you need is targets. At the Auxiliary range (it's outside the fence) you can shoot there whenever the main range is closed. But you can't just shoot at whatever targets you want (no glass, old TV's, etc., etc.). Most take there own target stands that way you can set them to different distances if you want. In fact, I just made up a bunch of portable target stands (out of PVC) that I am selling. The come with removeable wood uprights and a heavy cardboard backer board. I'll show you one when you pick up your gun.
I do advise that if you go and it's open, even if you are using the Aux range, to sign in at the office. This shows that the range is being utilized and the more it is used the more the justification to get money to keep it in good repair.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member

Re: Scotia range question
The formal range has a roof for the pistol and some of the rifle sections. There is a 100 yd rifle and ~25 yd pistol range outside the gates, which are available dawn till dusk. Inside the gates are a variable pistol range, and up to 200yd rifle ranges. Also, on the other side of the road is a shotgon range for tossing clays. Usually there are stantions up already for you to place your targets on the external ranges.
