M&P Front Sight replacement?
I have a standard size Smith M&P 9mm with factory Novak sights. I want to replace the front sight with a fiber optic sight, but keep the back factory sights.
The problem is that Novak seems to have 2 F/O sights for the M&P. One is .170" and the other .190".
Does anybody know which is the match for the factory rear sights?
I searched everywhere, but could not find a straight answer. I'll probably start calling Novak and/or S&W soon if I can't find an answer.
Thanks!

Re: M&P Front Sight replacement?
Yeah, I did find that one.
The problem is that I want to replace the front sight with a Novak Fiber Optic. The Novak F/O comes in .170 and .190 (no info on the overall height). You would think that since the sights are made by the same company that one of them would match. I have an email into Novak about it, but no response yet.

Re: M&P Front Sight replacement?
I believe factory height for a 4.25" FS is 0.165". That is what mine measures, my Ameriglo front, Warren front, and Novak front are all the same as well. 0.170" might be to get the POI behind the dot (FO rod in your case).

Re: M&P Front Sight replacement?
Novak responded to my email and said that the .170" should work, but I should measure to be sure.
So, I guess that I'll invest in a decent caliper, measure my front sight, and then head to a shop to see if I can measure their sights in stock.

Check out the link. The second post down does a great job explaining front sight post height and how changing it affects POI/POA.
Hope it helps.

Re: M&P Front Sight replacement?
I'm pretty sure .160 is the standard height.
I replaced both my rear/front sight, but when I was ordering my rear sight, I saw that .160 was the stock front height.Peace, Prosperity, and Liberty
