Default Good holster selections in the PGH area?

Where do you guys normally go to find holsters? I know I can get anything under the sun online but Ive always been leary about ordering a holster without trying it on first. Mainly looking for a 442 and a SP101 holster.

    Honestly,

If you're going to buy a GOOD holster, order it online. The gun stores in the Pgh area do not really carry a good selection of high quality holsters.

    Just my opinion of course.

If you do want to go and shop around, the only two stores that I have been in that have any amount of holster (and again it ain't much) are Anthony Arms in West Mifflin and Aces in Washington, PA.

    Good luck with your search.

The best selection I've found in the area is at Anthony Arms in West Mifflin. Not my favorite shop by any stretch, but they do have a decent selection of Galco and Don Hume holsters.

    mine too.

i've never been able to find any comp-tacs, bladetechs, milt sparks, etc. anywhere in pittsburgh. plenty of fobuses and uncle mike's, though.

if you want a good kydex holster that is made locally (by a PAFOAer), check out atomicdog holsters. he does really nice work. he doesn't have a storefront or anything, though...you still gotta order.

Atomic dog or online. Unless you have a popular gun, you may be looking a bit for something locally.

    On a side note,

I moved to Pittsburgh from the Seattle area 7 years ago. I go back once or twice each year and hit several ranges/shops each time I go.

More than one shop/range has walls with Blade-Tech, Kramer, Galco, Blackhawk or DeSantis holsters on the walls. When I get back to Pittsburgh I always say, "I know that there are lots of shooters and concealed pistol carriers in this area, why are the gun stores/ranges so lacking out here?"

And don't even get me started on the local ranges.

    Sorry for the slight de-railment.

    no kidding.

    PMSC is great, though.

but, after greater pittsburgh gun club closed down, i looked all over allegheny county (and surrounding areas) for a new place to shoot. with the exception of PMSC, every single place i checked out has some stupid rule or ten that would prevent one from effectively practicing self-defense (or practical) shooting.

now, if ya want to sight in a deer rifle...

Same situation. Im from Kansas and I can think of a about a dozen stores in the Kansas City area I could stop at and check out holsters. Here I feel like Im just wasting my time going store to store.
