    Default My 1911

I've always loved the look of the government model ever since i built a plastic model kit of one I bought from Collecters Armory. If you put it together correctly it would cycle real looking rounds that had caps placed in them.

Anywho, I came across this used Para compact at Shydas. It was in my price range, had an ambi safety (I'm left handed) so i took it home. I just love the big hole in the end of the barrel compared to my 9mm and .380.

That's a nice find. I had a P10-45 Limited years ago and sold it but wish I hadn't. Nice and concealable. Congrats.

    Wink Re: My 1911

I started really loving the M1911 when I used to play Brothers in arms. I'd just go around blasting nazi's with it...I turned 21 this year and first thing I did was go out and buy myself one.

Mine's a Springfield Armory M1911-A1 full sized monster...I just picked up a 10 round mag off of Cheaperthandirt.com I can't wait to shoot the sucker for the first time...still thinking of a name for her...

My only complaint is that you need tools to disassemble it unlike most where you just push the front in and turn the bushing...at least I don't have to worry about it flying down range one day lol.

I shot a box of Wolf FMJ thru it. Had a few hiccups, 2 didn't feed all the way. I gave it a good cleaning and an oiling. Haven't been back out to give it another try yet.

J_RyanM1911,,, you may want to thank John Moses Browning for the 1911. I'm not sure which model you have, but you can put in a GI guide rod or a one piece full length guide rod.

Run about 100-200 fmj through it and then start looking for the defensive round it likes then leave target picture on sight. I bet she will do you proud. I've heard nothing but good things about Para 1911s.
