    Default S&W 3913

This is probably going to be one of those "stupid questions"....but I must be missing something.

The magazine on this pistol holds 8....so the pistol should be 8 + 1 correct? How do you get that +1?

I load up the mag, insert it, then chamber the first round. Drop the mag to top it off....and the round that was chambered falls out of the mag well.

So....am i not doing something I should be doing?

Sounds like the mag was not inserted fully to begin with.

I just tried it again...several times...and now i can't get it NOT to work.

    I feel stupid.

Although...on the first attempt...I noticed when I dropped the mag that the top round in the mag was just about completely removed from the lips of the mag...each successive attempt everything worked fine.

    Lolol. New gun?

Some autos need to really have the mag slapped up in there, some don't.

Not new...i've had it about 12 years...it was used then...but it's seen a lot more "action" in the last 2 months then it has in all of those 12 years.

The good thing is that you solved the problem. Most problems stem from the user whatever you were doing you are not doing now so it worked.
    Enjoy your 3913 S&W 9mm.

Interesting. I've never had that problem. Are you sure it was the chambered round, rather than the second in the magazine? My 3913 sometimes drops that second round ... never the one chambered.

now that you mention this....it does kinda ring a bell...but it's been a few weeks since I had this happen...maybe that is what was happening....
