scout scope for m1a scout/squad
I recently ordered a Springfield scout/squad M1A. I will be picking it up this week. I plan on shooting with the irons to start but would then like to put the scout concept to use. I really would like to put a Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x scope but am concerned about the eye relief.
I measured the distance between the scout rail and my eye with a proper cheek weld. The distance was about 14". Also, I should consider that when I mount the scope the eyepiece will be closer to my eye as well.
I looked at the Accupoint model mentioned above and at 14" the eye relief was not great but seemed acceptable.
Am I forgetting something? Does anyone have experience with this type of set up? Thank you for any information you can share.

Re: scout scope for m1a scout/squad
I have a savage 308 scout set up. I used a ncstar pistol/rifle scope. the eye releif is about 11 inches. burris and leupold both make scout specific scopes. I just really couldn't see spending the money on them when I will be using mostly iron sights.
