Lefever 410 double barreled shotgun
I have had this gun since 1944 when it was given to me brand new by my father, and I shot it for about 6 years and not since. It is in perfect condition except for a few missing bluing spots on each barrell. The barrels' insides are perfect as is the stock. Any idea what this might be worth and how best to try to sell it? Thank you.

Re: Lefever 410 double barreled shotgun
Billy: Can't help you yet. Need to get more info. I have a Lefever 12 ga SXS; it has an appearance similar to what you have described. I paid just under $400 for it a few years ago. It is probably about the same nowadays.
I mention this because .410 SXSs are usually very desirable shotguns - there just are not many - and they tend to fetch a premium as far as price goes.

Billy: I found this listing on Gunbroker.com. How does it compare to your gun appearance-wise? Note the asking price. Check back at the end to see if it sells.

Re: Lefever 410 double barreled shotgun
mine is sxs; in 99% condition; inside of bores perfect; just a bit of bluing on the barrels missing. I am the only owner. Gun bought 62 years ago new. Not fired in 40 years. I heard somewhere 400 to 1250. Is that possible?
any idea of worth
Thank you. You folks are very congenial.

Re: Lefever 410 double barreled shotgun
Billy: I checked back on the link that I provided in my earlier post. It was a gun like yours, in quite good condition - don't know if you took a look at it - but the asking price was $1500. It received no bids at that price. It was relisted for the same money. Again, it did not sell.
I do believe, however, that, 400 t0 1200 is a more realistic range.

Pete--thank you very much for the pricing advice, which sounds very logical.
