    Default AK Workshop-Type 1

    AK Workshop -Type 1

The AK47, or Avtomat Kalshnikova Obrazetza 1947g(7.62 Automatic Kalashnikov Rifle Model of 1947g) was the Brainchild of Russian tanker turned weapon designer Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov. Since it first introduction an estimated 80 million including its variants have been produced making it the most proliferate firearm in the world. Its simplicity, ruggedness, reliability and ballistic effectiveness have made it a favorite among many. Though some may view it only as a battlefield pick-up weapon we feel it can fulfill the role of a citizen defensive rifle. In these series of “workshops” we will capitalize on the inherent strengths of its design, increase the operators understanding, skill level and fighting prowess with this highly effective weapon system.

What will be covered for the 09/10 workshop:

    • Gear selection critique
    • Ballistic overview
    • Marksmanship Fundamentals
    • Sighting variations
    • Manipulation of controls
    • Carry and ready positions
    • Sling methods
    • Loading, unloading, reloading(static and moving)
    • Reloading procedures in regards to situation dynamics
    • Non-diagnostic stoppage clearance
    • Weapon retention methods and considerations
    • Body postioning, ie: Fighting positions
    • Single and multiple targets
    • Change of direction methods

What time do these classes start? I know it will be a drive for me, about 4 hours. But I really want to attend an AK Class.

I'm actually getting married on the 9th. But the wife siad she don't care if I go. (That's why I'm marrying her) So.... I'm thinking about it.

Anyone from here thinking about going?

There is the other class on 10/24, but I am requiring that people have attended the Type 1 workshop or attended another AK type class from an established school to attend the Type 2.

The reason for this is that we really do focus in on weapon manipulations for the Type 1, simply because this is a real achillies heel for a lot of shooters.

I did just look at the Sunrise/Sunset times for Eastern PA for that date. Seeing that, I may just bump it up to 9am and push out end time an hour further.

I might be interested in this. Hellertown isn't too far away. Please post back if you push it to a 9am start.

Not to nit pick but someone needs to fix the bio on the web site for Mr. Desrosiers.

During his carrier, he was a Patrol Officer, Firearms Instructor and Field-Training Officer.

I'm guessing someone meant Career . Sometimes even the little things will turn people away.
