Anyone use a Burris 1-4x24 Xtreme?
I was at the range the other day breaking in my Franken AR and I met a guy who recommended the Burris 1-4x24 Xtreme Tactical XTR 30mm scope. Does anyone have any experience with this scope? I’m looking at buying the Gen. 2scope with the Larue mount. I’ll attach the link below. The maing purpose of this rifle is home defense/SHTF.
Thanks in advance for the input.

Re: Anyone use a Burris 1-4x24 Xtreme?
I do not have the Burris XTR Tactical Rifle Scope but I do have the Burris AR-322 Prism Sight. I know it's not the same but if I had to put a grade on my Burris product it would get an A+
I have the AR-322 on my AR. It's awesome!

I don't have any experience with that particular scope but 1x4 zooms are about perfect for an AR, if you don't mind the additional weight. In my opinion.
The Larue mount is standard for a high quality mount. If you're okay with the price I doubt you'll have any issues with the purchase.
As an alternative, I use an American Defense mount with a Millett DMS 1x4. Basically the same setup as what you are looking for except:
the Millett is not nearly as expensive. The DMS got some pretty high reviews a couple of years back when I purchased. Mine is quite nice and has held up just fine. The Burris and the Millett are so close in looks and function as well. And considering where they both come from, I wonder if it is possible they both come from the same manufacturer, maybe not the same model, but I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't very close cousins at least.
American Defense mount was a few bucks cheaper than the Larue and is just as nice, IMO.
Another option, since you're considering over $800. The Trijicon AccuPoint TR24 scopes are very nice. And no batteries to worry about until it needs to be sent back for servicing in about 10 years or so. And even then, once the tritium dies off, it still has fiber optic backup. More money but a very functional scope. If I had the cash to blow, I'd have a Trijicon.

I ended up purchasing the Burris 1-4x24 Xtreme with the P.E.P.R. mount and Fast Fire II. I got the whole package for about $750. I'll post a range report with some photos when I take her to the range and sight her in later this week.
