Transport in Delaware...
I have to take a piece of equipment to Delaware next Monday (Labor Day). Drop-off is about 1/2 mile off DE Rt 1 around Milford at an undeveloped subdivision in a rural area (nobody around usually). I doubt I would be making any other stops along the way in DE. So having to Open Carry in public shouldn't be an issue (not that I think it would be a problem) From what I've found I would be OK to leave my firearm loaded in its holster on the passenger seat of the truck in plain view correct? I don't have a FL or UT permit (yet), just PA and MD. I've been searching but the search sucks and I just want to make sure. Am I missing something or am I good to go? Thanks.

Re: Transport in Delaware...
FYI, while open carrying in a vehicle in Delaware the firearm does not have to be unloaded. It just has to be in a plain view area and our LEO's are taught to look on the dash or passenger seat.
A stored firearm on the other hand does have to be unloaded and innaccessible.
Handguns may be carried in a in open view
without a license (see Possession): in a holster
on their person, or in an area in plain view while
travelling in a vehicle, such as the dashboard or
on the passenger seat.
Handguns may also be stored in an inaccessible
area of a vehicle, such as a trunk. Rifles and
shotguns must be unloaded while being carried
in or on any vehicle, farm machinery, or motorboat
or sailboat while under power.Last edited by ForwardAssist; September 3rd, 2010 at 08:17 AM.
