Re: ALLEGHENY COUNTY-SHERIFF BILL MULLEN
You make it clear that you think Kress doesn't have a shot, but I really think he does, I think enough people see Acting Sheriff Mullen for what he is, a hypocrite, he carries a firearm but is "brainwashed to associate firearms with negativity" I think I would rather have the guy in office that never carried and has no intention to carry than someone who DOES carry but thinks it's his personal duty to make it harder for other law abiding citizens to do so.
In his time as acting sheriff he has had plenty of time to show the legal firearms owners that he was pro-firearms, instead he has made it take longer to get a LTCF, he closed the firearms office on Saturdays making it harder to get down there in town during the week to get one. He wants my vote? He's had plenty of time to show what he is made of, and unfortunatly for him he is show that he cannot be trusted to oversee our 2nd amendment rights in Allegheny County.

Re: ALLEGHENY COUNTY-SHERIFF BILL MULLEN
Why should I have to work with him to restore my rights that he is impeding?
he (and many officers) may have become brainwashed to associate firearms with negativity
...we cannot elect (even though kress doesn't have a shot) someone who tells us what we want to hear!!
defazio gave out permits in 15 minutes---it was a different and corrupt organization then---if enough of us work with MULLEN, we as a people, can make changes...
hell, even ask him to tell you about some of old "war stories" (shootings, fights, getting shot at, making undercover drug buys, shooting someone through a 2nd story window)
Chaz, I await your reply.Sec. 21. The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.
Sec. 25. To guard against transgressions of the high powers which we have delegated, we declare that everything in this article is excepted out of the general powers of government and shall forever remain inviolate.

Re: ALLEGHENY COUNTY-SHERIFF BILL MULLEN
I wonder about what motivates people to join a forum and immediatly start pushing for some politician or agenda in thier first posts. Before anyone knows them, or they have built any repor with the group. Politicians hire people to do this sort of thing.

Re: ALLEGHENY COUNTY-SHERIFF BILL MULLEN
Source this is drop it. Where has he said this, when and to whom?
he is just another lying politician!!
Mullen supports assault weapons bans.
Mullen has made it harder to get a LTCF in his county.
Mullen has gone on record stating that he wants to make it harder to get a gun in Pennsylvania.
None of that makes him a friend to gun owners.
how can we elect a sheriff who will not/is not licensed to carry a firearm!!
plus, he still lives at home with his mother!!!
MULLEN is not a politician...he is a mans-man...a cops-cop...take a trip to the courthouse, ask MULLEN if he is carrying a firearm at that moment, i'll bet my house he is (glock 9mm)...he ALWAYS DOES....does anyone out there know how many gun battles MULLEN was in in his career?? numerous!! he was protecting himself, the citizens, and his fellow law enforcement officers...does anyone else know that MULLEN has also shot/wounded numerous people defending himself and his fellow officers?? ask him, he has some wild stories!! i found him easily approachable and more than willing to talk about his career when i went to the courthouse last month...his career is very-very impressive...MULLEN made undercover drug buys, arrested scum bag gang bangers, was the head of homicide for numerous years, was the deputy chief, etc etc... he even had the unfortunate instance of having his partner killed as they busted down a door to arrest a murderer...MULLEN is not a politician, he is a cop and only a cop...he was brought in because of his "...impeccable record.." (post gazette)...he has been endorsed by 31 out of 34 groups...
he also (as stated incorrectly in this thread) IS NOT FOR APPOINTMENT OF THE SHERIFF...he wants to let the voters decide...if someone questions me, i'll provide multiple sources...[/B]
Please do.

Someone may be seeing internal polls in the county and not liking the results.

Re: ALLEGHENY COUNTY-SHERIFF BILL MULLEN
Mullen thinks it's O.K. for him to carry a gun but you shouldn't. He has done everything he can to make it as hard as possible to get or renew your LTCF.

Re: ALLEGHENY COUNTY-SHERIFF BILL MULLEN
chaz...
does mullen respect rule of law? is he willing to abide by the limits placed on his authority by the constitution and laws?
it seems he does not...and this is why i won't vote for him.
mullen says that it is illegal to carry in airports. in reality, of course, it is only illegal to carry in secured parts of airports.
mullen seems to think that the the county ordinance against carrying in airports trumps the pre-emption clause in the PA UFA. it, of course, does not. the pre-emption clause renders the allegheny county ordinance null and void.
in PA, only the state (or the feds, of course) have the power to make it illegal to carry in airports. the state has not done so, and the feds have only made it illegal to carry in secured parts of airports.
thus, it is, regardless of what mullen or any county ordinance says, legal to carry in non-secured areas of airports in PA...including airports in allegheny county.
why does mullen think he can go beyond the law in restricting carry? do we want a sheriff who apparently doesn't really believe in rule of law?
i won't even get into his apparent support for an AWB...

Re: ALLEGHENY COUNTY-SHERIFF BILL MULLEN
Using a firearm is not a qualification! I'm pretty sure most of us hope we NEVER have to fire our CCW weapon.
I'd say Mullen is hiring 12 year old mall ninjas to do his PR. PS...It appears your capslock key is jammed.
I wonder if this (the immature rambling posts) could possibly get out to the papers so the public can see what kind of campaign mullen is running.
