Review of my Zombie Slayer on the Tube!

Re: Review of my Zombie Slayer on the Tube!
Impressive build. I would probably run a longer rail, but otherwise it seems as if you paid attention to detail and built a reliable gun that you can shoot rather than tell people you shoot it.
Have you used the MS2 sling much?Jeff Cooper was a huge supporter of gun games, when he was winning them at least...

LOL!!! Actually I just got the Mission Spec Irene Sling, and I cant even begin to tell you how impressed I am with it. That will probably be my next review.

Re: Review of my Zombie Slayer on the Tube!
Not sure if I like that. Honestly, it seems poorly thought out. For single point, consider this: http://www.skdtac.com/PIG_Drop_Slide..._p/pig.110.htm
For two point: http://www.blueforcegear.com/product...d=5&prod_id=79
The SKD sling is pretty effective at eliminating the concerns with a single point (getting the gun to the side), but does not have the comfort of a two point. I havent spent more than two hours with the SKD, but it reassured me that the Vickers sling is top notch.
If you ever make it down to Pittsburgh for anything you are more than welcome to try them.Jeff Cooper was a huge supporter of gun games, when he was winning them at least...

Re: Review of my Zombie Slayer on the Tube!
good work, pretty clean, simple rifle, as it should be.
I agree, a longer rail.
I'm glad you have a light on it(I don't have any on my personal rifles yet) but my issued one does. Very important.
You are not a dork, if you were a dork, the rifle you are reviewing would be airsoft.
Mega makes some serious stuff. Have you seen their monolithic billet uppers? They almost make me want to build another .223/5.56 rifle.
Strong dislike for one point slings, sir. With that being said, it's your rifle not mine and if it works for you, that is great. Here is my reasoning. Below my body armor, I wear a web belt. The web belt has my IFAK, two pistol mags, an M4 mag, my leatherman multitool an my serpa holster with pistol. For whatever reason I need my pistol, I tighten my sling to my rifle as i bring it down to switch over(two point sling), the rifle isn't flopping or if I have to get a little lower, I have a little more control over the muzzle direction. That's me though.
Good work.

I think you put together a fantastic rifle. Slings are often a highly contested topic, but some are better than others. I'm using the ms2 on a pistol and I really like it. But that won't bang you up if you drop it.

Very nice build. I like the short rail. My Stag has a short rail. If I ever build an AR, I will go with a long rail.

What kind of magnifier is that? Is it the LaRue mount that allows the flip to the side? I've been looking for one for my EoTech 512.
