~ Are some Repeat Classified Gun ADs the Definition of Insanity?
~ Are some Repeat Classified Gun ADs the Definition of Insanity?
There are a couple of Classified Advertisers who repeatedly list the same firearms for sale or trade on this and other gun related websites. At least a couple of those ADs have been running every few days for many months now. Over and over and over!
One particular seller has an SKS carbine offered using the same exact AD with fixed price since at least the summer of 2009. Nothing changes . . .
The advertiser has NO reputation and a ZERO posting history. This person just runs the same AD offering to sell that item. Also, Email messages and PMs in response to the offering go unanswered.
It is said . . . that to repeat the same action many times over with the hope of a different outcome is the true definition of . . ." INSANITY ".
The question then is . . . Is the described situation actually . . . " INSANITY ", or perhaps something else?

Re: ~ Are some Repeat Classified Gun ADs the Definition of Insanity?
I think that most of these people don't want to be "members" of the board, and instead are just using it as a way to try and sell off a piece of their collection. That being said, they just update it as often as they can, in the hopes that someone will make an offer.
Some may not know how to use the PM function, others might just be scams. I would almost prefer to see a post count needed to sell in the classifieds. But, that in turn would result in more trolling.
Now, don't get me wrong. I am sure that some people are just wanting to get rid of something collecting dust, and think being a place for gun owners to congregate, that this would be an ideal place to sell it. It's just that some prices are outrageous. And some pieces aren't as coveted as others.I'm so fast, I can bump fire a bolt action.

Re: ~ Are some Repeat Classified Gun ADs the Definition of Insanity?
We discourage duplicate classifieds posts.
So if you see a duplicate ad, please notify staff by hitting the "report post" button
Staff will then correct the problem and poster.
Problem solved._________________________________________
